Bluesky stores video on its own CDN and plays it as an HLS stream: a playlist plus dozens of small segments, in several qualities. Browsers can play that, but they can't save it as a file. isaveall reads the playlist, takes the best quality and assembles the segments into a regular MP4 with the original audio, which is why the download takes a few seconds longer than on other platforms.

The result is a standard file that plays anywhere, without re-encoding the picture.

A Bluesky post can carry one video, up to four images, or neither. Half the Bluesky downloaders in these results sell GIFs and images alongside video. Here is what those actually are. A Bluesky GIF is not hosted by Bluesky at all: the app embeds it from Tenor, so the file lives on another service and this page has nothing to fetch. Images attached to a post are ordinary JPEGs served by the Bluesky CDN, and your browser already saves them with a long press on the phone or a right click on the computer, no tool needed. This page handles the one case the browser cannot: the HLS video stream, which it assembles into a single MP4.

Quote posts and replies are the other common miss. If you paste the link of a post that quotes another post, the video sits in the quoted one; open it and copy that address instead. Same with a post that only links out to a YouTube or Vimeo video: the file is on that platform, not on Bluesky.
