How TikTok sounds work
Whether you call it a TikTok MP3 converter, a tik tok to mp3 tool or just tt to mp3, the job is the same: take the audio track out of the video you paste. Every TikTok has an audio track, and many also reference an original sound: the clip other creators reuse. The MP3 you get here is the track of the video you paste, encoded at 128 kbps, which is the quality TikTok itself streams. It includes the creator's voice-over when there is one, because that is how the sound is mixed into the video.
Because we extract from the file TikTok plays, the MP3 includes everything you hear in the app: music, voice and effects mixed together. A studio-quality separation isn't possible from that source, and no tool can promise it honestly.
What you can do with the file
The MP3 works as a ringtone, in a video editor, in a presentation or in a podcast intro, as long as you have the right to use it. Trending TikTok sounds are usually licensed music: personal use is fine, publishing it in your own content is not, unless the license allows it.
The file is named after the creator and the video id, with no watermark and no hidden metadata. Its size is small: about one megabyte per minute of audio.
How the MP3 is made and why it takes a moment
The MP3 row appears for every public video: our server downloads the MP4 TikTok plays, extracts the sound from it and encodes it while the file streams to you, which is why the MP3 takes a couple of seconds longer than the video. Photo posts are different: they have no video track to extract from, so the slideshow tool builds an MP4 with the post's sound, and that MP4 is where the audio lives.

Not as a separate MP3: photo posts have no video track to extract from. Use the slideshow tool, whose MP4 carries the post's sound, and take the audio from that file if you need it alone.
Why isn't the MP3 320 kbps?
TikTok stores audio as AAC at about 128 kbps. Re-encoding it to 320 kbps makes the file bigger, not better. We keep the original rate.
How do I set a TikTok sound as my ringtone?
Download the MP3. On Android, pick it under Settings > Sound. iPhone doesn't accept MP3 ringtones directly; you need GarageBand or a computer to convert it first.
Is it legal to download TikTok audio as MP3?
Saving a sound for personal listening is generally fine. Using music you don't own in your own videos or commercially needs the rights holder's permission.
