Download photos and images from an X post at full size
Save the images of a public post on X at the largest size X stores, without the compression of a screenshot. Posts with several photos are supported.
How to download
Open the post on X, tap Share and choose Copy link. x.com and twitter.com links both work.
Put the link in the box at the top: tap Paste or type it. We read the post id from x.com, twitter.com and t.co links; a post with one photo gives a single file, a post with several shows them as a grid, in order, at full size. The X app's built-in browser can't save files, so use Safari or Chrome.
Tap Download JPG for a single photo. In a post with several, tap the one you want: it opens at full size, and a tap-and-hold saves it on a phone.
What you can download
The 'orig' size
Images posted on X are stored in several sizes: small, medium, large and the original upload, which X calls orig. The app and the website show you the large size, capped at 2048 pixels; the orig size can reach 4096 pixels on the longest side. This tool requests orig, so the photo you save is the biggest one that exists on X.
PNG uploads stay PNG; everything else is served as JPG with X's own compression applied at upload time.
Several photos in one post
Posts can carry up to four images. All of them are listed in order with a button each. Photos inside quote posts belong to the quoted post; paste that post's link to get them.

Is the image in full size?
Yes. We request the largest version X stores.
Can I download all photos of a post?
Yes. Each photo has its own button, and when the post carries two or more images a Download all (ZIP) row appears above them, with every photo at full size in a single file. A post can hold up to four images.
Do I need to log in to X to save photos?
No. Public posts show their images to anyone, and that is what we fetch. Posts from protected accounts and posts marked as sensitive content are visible only to logged-in users, so they can't be fetched.
Do the photos pass through your server?
Only a single photo does, streamed through without touching disk to force the download; photos from a multi-image post load straight from X's image servers into your browser. Nothing is stored either way, not even the full link.
What resolution do I get?
The 'orig' size X stores, typically up to 4096 px on the longest side.
Does it work with photos in a thread?
Yes. Paste the link of the post that contains the photos you want.
Can I download the header or profile picture?
Not with this tool: it reads the images attached to a post, and the avatar and the header aren't attached to one. If the account posted the same picture at some point, paste that post's link and you get it at full size.
Are the images compressed?
We request the original upload; X applies its own compression when the photo is posted and that's the file you get.
Will the user know I downloaded their photo?
No. X does not notify anyone, and we never contact the author.
What format do I get?
The file exactly as X stores it, usually JPG and sometimes PNG. We don't convert to WebP or other formats.
What if the post has a video or GIF instead of photos?
Use the video downloader or the GIF downloader; this tool only picks up still images.
Can I download all photos of a thread or profile at once?
No. It works one post at a time, with up to four photos per post.
