A reel is stored by Instagram as several MP4 renditions, from a small preview to the full 1080 by 1920 version. isaveall requests the largest one the post exposes, so the file matches what you see in the app on a good connection. Audio is included exactly as it plays, including the music track, unless Instagram muted it for rights reasons in your region.
The link can come from the app's Share sheet, from a DM, from WhatsApp or from the address bar of instagram.com; all of them contain the post code that identifies the reel. Reels from private accounts, or reels the author restricted by age, can't be opened without a session and won't work here.
Reels versus videos and stories
Instagram has three video formats. Reels are vertical, public by default and live at instagram.com/reel/. Feed videos are older posts at instagram.com/p/ and download the same way. Stories disappear after 24 hours and require a logged-in session to read, so they are not covered by this tool.

Quality and file size
Most reels weigh between 2 and 15 megabytes at 1080p. If the result shows a smaller resolution, that is the largest version Instagram generated for the post: creators who upload compressed files, or older reels, only exist at 720p or below. Yes, as long as the link points to a public reel. Links copied from a private account won't open.
Is it legal to download Instagram reels?
Saving a public reel for yourself is normally fine: you are keeping a copy of something anyone can already watch. What you don't get is the right to republish it. The reel belongs to whoever made it, so reposting it, using it in an ad or putting it in your own video needs their permission. We only read public posts, we never use an account, and we keep no copy of anything you download.
