Instagram stores every reel with a single AAC audio track mixing the original sound, the chosen music and any voice-over. The MP3 you get is that track, converted once at 128 kbps, so it sounds exactly like the reel. It is not the full song from the music library; if you need the full track, look for it on a music service.

Any public reel or feed video gives an MP3, including former IGTV videos with an instagram.com/p/ link. Carousels can mix photos and videos, and only the video items have sound: paste the post link, use the carousel tool to spot the video you want and convert that one. Stories and highlights need a logged-in session and are outside every isaveall tool, and so are videos from private accounts, even if you follow them.

The MP3 covers the whole reel and is the same length as the video. Instagram sometimes replaces a song with silence in countries where it has no license for it; when that happens the audio Instagram serves to our server is silent, and so is the MP3. That is not a bug in the conversion: the sound simply isn't in the file Instagram exposes.

Typical uses: keeping a voice-over or a spoken tip for later, saving a clip of a live set you were at, or grabbing a sound to identify the song before looking for the full track on a music service. Reusing the audio in your own reel needs the author's permission or a license: the file gives you the sound, not the rights.

Downloading the sound of a public reel for yourself is one thing; using it is another. The MP3 gives you the file, not the rights. Keeping a voice-over to listen to later, saving a spoken tip, or grabbing a few seconds to work out which song it is: all normal personal use. Putting that audio in your own reel, in an ad, in a podcast or in anything you publish needs permission from whoever made it, and if the track is commercial music it needs a licence from the rights holder too, which no downloader can give you.

If what you are after is the full song rather than the reel's mix, this is the wrong tool: the MP3 here is the reel's own audio track, cropped and mixed exactly as it plays in the app. Look for the song on a music service instead.
